TRIPLE X CARBURETORS

last few years and some of them are:
  • Before a carb is chromed most sharp edges are beveled to prevent chrome build up that
    may cause the chrome to chip.
  • Bored carb venturis are re-angled by machining before and after the Booster location then
    sanded and polished for faster air flow.
  • The 42mm bored venturi 'E' carbs use our .375 ID Booster Kit and the larger 47.6mm bored
    venturi 'G' carbs use the .600 ID Purple Booster.
  • Throttle shafts are cut from a .277 size to a  thinner .187 size for even more air flow at full
    throttle.
  • Accelerator pumps are modified with a new check ball seat made of viton rubber, the same
    material as the float needle tip. The nozzle tip incorporates a new design to provide more
    fuel for quicker acceleration.  The nozzle tube is modified with a new air bleed hole to help
    stop fuel from being siphoned out of the nozzle tip. These mods eliminate the low speed
    engine roughness in the 2000 RPM range.
  • All chrome carbs with third fuel circuits (Thunder Jets) are chromed after all machining is
    done to eliminate damage to the chrome finish.
  • All modified carbs are checked for proper throttle shaft fit, alignment and side play.
  • All modified carbs now have replaceable air bleeds for both the low speed and high speed
    jets for better tuning.
  • All modified carbs have polished brass parts as standard and butterflies are also polished.
  • An optional 14k hard gold plating is available to keep brass parts from tarnishing and
    looking it's best for years. Option adds $45.00 to carb cost.  
  • All completed modified carbs are tested on a bench motor before shipment to ensure the
    customer receives a quality product.


Since 2005 when TRIPLE X CARBURETORS built a special billet one off carb for a friend so he
could compete in the California Dyno Drags we have continued to experiment with larger carbs.
Now after working on a new
billet carb body for the last 14 months we have come up with
something that is race ready yet usable on the street too.
Motorcycle engines keep getting bigger but the available carbs haven't kept up.

Now available on special order from TRIPLE X CARBURETORS is a
carb body that is equivalent
in size to the S&S 'D' carb.
The carb body has the same 51mm venturi and a 57.1mm butterfly
size as the 'D' carb for more air flow but with a
body length (3.5 inches) of a Shorty 'G'!

To build this carb the billet body must use a separate S&S 'E' or 'G' carb for the parts needed to
complete this monster carb. If you don't have a S&S 'E' or 'G' carb to turn in then an S&S  carb
will need to purchased from TRIPLE X CARBURETORS.

The completed 51/57mm carb will then have:

  • An adjustable high capacity accelerator pump.  
  • Twin third fuel circuit nozzles without any external fuel lines and replaceable  jets.
  • Replaceable air bleeds for both the main jet and intermediate jet.
  • Externally adjustable intermediate jet that covers a jet range of .000 to .045, no need to
    remove bowl to make adjustments.
  • High flow float needle and seat
  • Purple Booster Kit
  • Extended bowl and adjustment screws
  • Uses your same throttle cables


A 'D' size air cleaner assembly or after market air cleaner must be used. For a faster air velocity
within the intake manifold on engines under 117" a 'G' size intake manifold with a tapered ID
aluminum spacer should be used. A 'D' manifold with or without a spacer can be used on
engines over 117".

IT'S BEEN A WORK HORSE THAT WON'T QUIT. IT HAS PULLED CAMPING TRAILERS, CARRIED
PASSENGERS, ALL KINDS OF GEAR AND ALWAYS MADE IT HOME AGAIN.

LOTS OF CARB COMBINATIONS HAVE BEEN TESTED ON THIS BIKE BUT THE BILLET 51/57 HAS
TURNED OUT TO BE THE FASTEST WE EVER TESTED! THE BILLET BODY MAKES MORE HP THAT CAN
BE FELT FROM THE SEAT THAN ANY MODIFIED 'G' WE HAVE MADE BEFORE INCLUDING THE TAZ.
TESTING IS ALSO BEING DONE ON 95" TO 145" SIZE ENGINES AT THIS TIME.   

THIS NEW CARB BODY WILL BE HAND MADE FOR EACH CUSTOMER, FIRST COME FIRST SERVED
BASIS. A NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT OF $100.00 WILL BE REQUIRED TO HOLD A CARB ORDER.
